Structural pruning is undertaken to remove defects or potential defects from trees. If a tree has poor structural pruning it will become costly and pose a greater risk of failure upon maturity.

Many trees are removed that could have been retained if the correct structural pruning had been undertaken during establishment and this is the most common type of pruning we undertake.
