Canopy raising is a very useful technique and can be best viewed in open parklands and Council median strips.

 The lower branches of the tree are removed back to the branch collar (swollen area where branch meets trunk) to allow for a specified clearance e.g about 2-2.5m for our day to day activities such as mowing, recreation etc or higher for tractors, truck/caravan access etc.
